Golf swing has a takeaway, backswing, downswing, acceleration, and follow through.

A good sequence starts from the top of the golf swing. Many of us take it back in different directions, but how we start down separates the best players from the rest. Just like in any sport, there is a pattern of movement that is needed for power and consistency.

Key movements starting from the top of the golf swing:

1: Pressure into the lead heel

2: Lead knee starts to rotate

3. Hips start to unwind

4: The torso and arms follow

5: Lead should work down and around

6: Maintain wrist angles

7: Weight shift

8: Balanced finish

The swing is like a spiral movement. It consists of a coiling and uncoiling of the body, starting from the top to the bottom.

If you want to get better at golf, swing sequence is a key factor. This is one reason why it is so important for both beginners and experienced golfers to understand the proper golf swing sequence.

Understanding how your swing should work allows you to target specific areas of your swing that could use improvement. That way, you can be focused during your practice sessions and work on the things that are hampering your game.
